Travel Writing Submission
If you have traveled the world or just your neighborhood and have something extraordinary to write about, we like to hear from you and so does the world.

Do you travel? Do you write? Do you write when you travel? So you must travel write...

Then you can put that hobby to use. Or if you have a travel story you wrote, written, writing? Submit it...

We are looking for travel writers that have the ability to draw the reader into your world and evoke exploration.

What we are looking for in travel writing: Personal writing that places the reader in your shoes, and not directing them to a great place to shop or eat; Writing that has a voice is a must! - find yours (just write the same way you would talk to someone).

Only accepting writing from passionate travel writers that love the word, the unknown, and that - not necessarily all the time - like to feel the beat of an overexcited heart when running from the law or even punching out the law.

Be original and creative. The best travel writing usually carries a poetic tone.

Don't explain how your trip to Hawaii changed your life. It'll only sound dull and groundless to the reader. Show them the moment it changed.

We are looking for explorers. Passionate travel writers. Energetic lives.

Please! we are not looking for A to B travel guides.

Between 500-2,000 words.
Please submit word documents.
Include:
Destination of Story
Your First Name
Your Last Name
Email
A catchy title!

A great venue for aspiring travel writers wishing to gain exposure, and for established travel writers to share with our readers the unique, the beauty of the world, and the use of control in a language and style when describing a journey.

Hello travel writers and adventurers. Our next contest is up and it's all about Miami.

If you have an experience concerning the tip of Florida's pan handle we would like to hear it. The stories have to be about your experience in the Sunny magical city, and it's not only for tourists - locals can participate. Just make the story fun, exciting and somewhat informative (tidbits of info make the readers connect). But please don't make this story a travel guide. We won't be accepting articles about where you ate, how your hotel was so expensive, or what time the museums open.

We want travel stories, adventures, experiences. When writing remember to use your voice. Write the story the same way you would tell it to a friend.

First of all thank you for those who submitted your travel writing pieces for OAJ's 2009 first travel writing contest.

We receieved a slew of submissions...good, bad and really out there pieces! Our job, a long and tedious one, was to pick and choose the best pieces from the staggering amount of entries (over 60 entries!)...and we are not done as of yet. Me and our contributing editors have been out-of-touch, traveling, working and basically living. Which is forcing us to push the annoucement date of our winners forward two weeks. Hopefully, we'll have everybody on board and finalizing our first, second and third places winners as soon as possible; because we'll be having another contest very very soon (rumors say it'll be possibly be starting in the next coming month).

Some of you may have noticied that you story has been posted on On A Junket's website. This will be happening throughout the coming weeks, even after the annoucement date. So be sure to check OAJ daily to see your story posted.
