Ant Man Executed
Remember the good old times (well at least in the USA) when you can Con someone and get at least 5-15 years in jail if caught, but the law boys in China have decided that if a con is going to take a mark(s) for several million dollars then that boy should hang by the neck -- even if the scheme was as tiny as ants.
Last Thursday, Wang Zhendong, a Chinese businessman convicted of swindling thousands of investors out of $416 million in a bogus ant-breeding scheme was executed. Ants are used in some traditional Chinese medicinal remedies, which can fetch a high price. Wang sold the kits, which cost $25, for $1,300. Because of Wang’s scrupulous deeds one investor committed suicide after realizing he had been duped. Of the $416 million that was taken only $1.28 million was recovered. The ants were subsequently released into the wild and saved from Wang’s supposed snake-oil remedy of being crushed into powder for aphrodisiac qualities and kidney cleansings.
